With only a few short weeks to go until the New Hampshire Primary and the eyes of the world focused on the Granite State, Ohio Governor John Kasich (R) has planned a town hall meeting at Franklin Pierce University next Tuesday, January 26th, part of the Fitzwater Presidential Forums.
“We’re excited to have Governor Kasich visiting Pierce next week to engage in the kind of retail politics that New Hampshire is known for,” said Andrew Card, President of Franklin Pierce University. “ This is a great opportunity for our students, who are already very engaged and excited about this election, to have this kind of access to the candidates.”
Kasich is scheduled to talk with students, faculty and staff at 12:30pm in Spagnuolo Hall. The event is free and is also open to the public.
“The Fitzwater Center is pleased to be a stop on the governor's campaign,” said Dr. Kristen Nevious, director of the Marlin Fitzwater Center for Communications at Franklin Pierce University. “We look forward to welcoming Governor Kasich as we bring forth the robust debate that is critical to the health of our nation's democracy and of vital interest to the Monadnock region.”
Kasich was reelected as Governor of Ohio last year by a 30-point margin. Prior to serving as Governor, Kasich served 9 terms as a member of congress representing Ohio's 12th district. During his time in congress he Chaired the Budget Committee as well as serving for 18 years on the House Armed Services Committee.
Kasich is the sixth Presidential candidate to visit Franklin Pierce. Last month, Senator Rand Paul hosted a town hall meeting at Pierce.
