A total of 225 student-athletes in the Franklin Pierce University Department of Athletics have been named to the 2015 fall semester edition of the Athletic Department Honor Roll, as announced Thursday. In addition, 18 student-athletes garnered perfect, 4.0 grade-point averages. In all, 15 of the University’s 25 varsity squads eclipsed the 3.0 mark.
The 18 student-athletes who earned perfect 4.0 GPAs in the fall represented 10 different programs: men’s soccer’s Drew Bois, David Magee and Zourab Tsopourachvili; women’s cross country/track & field’s Nadine Hyde, Jackie Price and Tala Wilson; field hockey’s Sarah Bjorn, Chelsey Burnell and Carly Canavan; women’s ice hockey’s Alex Brolsma and Samantha Bureau; women’s soccer’s Amber Dempster and Katie Weldon; softball’s Mikaela Ballmer and Melissa Morgan; women’s basketball’s Jemma Thacker; women’s lacrosse’s Lauren Beville; and rowing’s Mary Quinn.
Ultimately, 17 of the Department’s 25 programs had 10 or more student-athletes qualify for the Athletic Department Honor Roll: men’s lacrosse (16); softball (16); baseball (14); field hockey (14); men’s cross country (13); women’s track & field (13); men’s ice hockey (12); women’s ice hockey (12); men’s soccer (12); women’s soccer (12); sprint football (12); women’s cross country (11); men’s track & field (11); rowing (10); and volleyball (10).
